I mean like panfry skin side down (brush with some marinade before) then flip over and cook the other side for a while then pour the sauce over while its cooking. I was thinking of spooning the sauce over while it cooks. Would this work as an alternative?

Okay, thanks I'm actually thinking of panfrying the salmon instead of grilling...I have a non stick pan. Is this ok?

lilan - Yes you could brush the salmon while its being grilled. You can also use minced fresh garlic.

Could i brush the sauce on top of the salmon while its grilling? Is this better than just pouring the sauce over once its cooked? Also would garlic cloves minced substitute fir garlic powder?

Thanks for this recipe. My husband found it and tried it on me. I was dreading having a "salmon" dinner and as he was preparing the fish, I was preparing chicken salad on the other counter! I gave it a go and it was very pleasant! I am definity going to keep this recipe around. I was finally able to enjoy eating salmon! Thank you!

I tried this recipe tonight with great results. I did not cook the sauce and the salmon separately though... I folded foil into a bathtub shape around the fillet, and poured the sauce in while it was grilling. It thickened up, and it kept the fish from drying out.

Anything better than grilled salmon? Now I think yes. Grilled salmon with your sauce. Thank you for the recipe of the honey-pepper sauce. I am sure it will be used for our next barbecue. It sounds a looks delicious.
