okay thanks. I can still pull it off and have everything ready ahead to put together, fry tortillas at last moment, put on fillings and bake. thanks. after I sent my message, I had my strategy all put together. these are sure to be a hit at our church luncheon. --Jill

Jill Comer- I would not recommend it, I believe the tortilla would lose its crispiness as you stated.

Wondering, Could these be made up a day ahead and then baked right before serving, of course, adding the topping right before baking, or would the fried tortilla lose crispiness and not have the same effect? I would love to make up ahead, but not sure on this part?

I tried this recipe for a party and it was a hit! THe only thing I did different was put some enchalada sauce on the top tortilla under the cheese and some taco bell sauce on top of the beans. Otherwise, great idea
