I made the vegetarian version and they are wonderful as well! In fact, the non-vegetarians who normally refuse to try anything without meat, ate the meatballs and didn’t realize. They even went back for seconds! I think it’s the sauce…amazing! I make them every year for Christmas and in fact, am making them right now. They’re a hit every year!

I made these for a function at my church and tripled the recipe and I’m happy to say, they were a major hit! This recipe is brilliant and the flavours are nothing short of sensational! These were the first dish finished on the buffet table and everyone raved about them and begged me for the recipe. Your site is by far the best recipe site on the internet. Colleen- Yes, that would work jsut fine. You could even use the crockpot as part of the cooking process if you wanted to. Maybe brown them in the oven, and mix the sauce and the meatballs in the crockpot for a few hours to finish cooking.

Looks great, can I make these the night before and just reheat in crock pot? I want to make these for Easter dinner and my oven will not be free. This will be for a large gathering?

I just made the sauce and put on store bought meatballs….”semi-homemade”! This sauce is awesome!! It has great flavor without being over powering. I will definitely make this again…but next time I will make the meatballs.

Valerie – If you want to use italian sauce for the meatballs I think they would taste fine. I would leave the pineapple out though. I have a great italian meatball recipe on here if your interested. http://blogchef.net/italian-meatball-recipe/
