- 2 tablespoons of rice wine
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 lb round steak, cut into thin strips
- 8 ounces fresh snow peas
Instructions
- Marinate the steak
In a large bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice wine, brown sugar, and cornstarch. Add the sliced steak and toss until evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate, allowing the steak to marinate for at least 20 minutes. - Cook the aromatics
Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper flakes and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. - Stir-fry the steak
Remove the steak from the marinade using a slotted spoon, reserving the marinade. Add the steak to the wok and stir-fry for about 2 minutes, or until evenly browned. - Add the vegetables and sauce
Add the snow peas and stir-fry for an additional 3 minutes. Pour in the reserved marinade and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce thickens and becomes smooth. - Serve
Serve hot over white rice.
