For air fryer baked potatoes:
- Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit (200 C). Potatoes should be rubbed with a little vegetable oil and seasoned with salt.
- Arrange the potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer. Cook for 30 to 45 minutes, or until fork-tender, flipping once during the baking process to ensure equal cooking.
For air fryer French fries:
- Using a knife or a mandoline slicer, cut potatoes into matchsticks. Soak sliced potatoes for 1 to 2 hours in a dish of cold water. This removes the starch, resulting in a delightfully crisp texture!
- Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200 C). Drain the potatoes and pat them dry. Toss the potatoes in a mixing bowl with a teaspoon of vegetable oil and a pinch of salt.
- Fill your air fryer halfway with fries and spread them out as thinly as possible. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally to ensure even frying.
For air fryer potato chips:
- Using a knife or a mandoline slicer, cut potatoes into thin circles. Soak sliced potatoes for 1 to 2 hours in a dish of cold water. This removes starch to make them perfectly crispy, just like the air fryer potato fries.
- Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150 C). Drain the potatoes and pat them dry. Toss the potatoes in a mixing bowl with a teaspoon per potato of vegetable oil and a pinch of salt.
- Fill your air fryer halfway with potatoes and spread them out as thinly as possible. Cook for 20 to 30 minutes, shaking the basket occasionally to ensure equal cooking. If your chips are flying around in the air fryer, you can cover them with the air fryer grill plate to keep them in place.
