Description
Shrimp stir-fried with garlic in a sweet and spicy chili-soy sauce, finished with sesame oil and green onions.

- 1 1/2 lb uncooked large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili sauce
- 2 teaspoons sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1 green onion, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Mix the sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, chili sauce, sesame oil, rice wine, and sugar until well combined. Set aside. - Cook the shrimp
Heat the olive oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, just until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2 minutes per side, until they turn pink and are cooked through. - Finish the dish
Pour the prepared sauce into the pan and stir until the shrimp are fully coated. Season with ground black pepper to taste, then remove from the heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
