Chicken Fajita Bowls Recipe

The ingredients of chicken fajitas are put into bowls for a nice and spicy Mexican dinner. This recipe gets most of its heat from Chipotle in Adobo sauce. I found it to be fairly spicy so if you do not like hot food I would recommend you cut down on the amount of Chipotle in adobo. The process of preparing this recipe is very simple. The chicken is simmered in a tomato sauce with black beans, onions, and peppers. If you don’t want to use white rice, you can use brown rice instead. Enjoy.

This is a great dish. I did kick it up with salt, pepper, more garlic and cumin. Wife really liked it. This is a keeper.

What a terrific one bowl meal - I would enjoy this over brown rice as you suggested!

Megan- I am in agreement with the comment above. I would recommend BBQ sauce. Sometimes I will add bqq sauce and a little hot sauce.

bobby, for some reason my husband and I really can't stand the adobo sauce flavor. This dish looks really good but I was wondering what you think would be the best to substitute. Maybe a chunky salsa, or maybe a bbq sauce like the comment above me? What would you suggest?

For similar flavor without the heat, I suggest subbing a smoky but not too sweet BBQ sauce for the chipotle in adobo. Aside from heat, the main thing you get from chipotle is that smoky flavor. It doesn't matter that much if the sauce is sweet, but you're adding a bit of sweetness to the dish if it is.
