Hot Taco Dip Recipe — Melty & Delicious

Updated on July 14th, 2025

This Hot Taco Dip is a hearty, oven-baked appetizer layered with classic Tex-Mex flavors. It starts with seasoned ground beef and refried beans, then gets topped with sour cream, shredded cheese, and a colorful mix of fresh veggies like tomatoes, olives, and jalapeños. The result is a warm, melty dip that’s both comforting and bold. It’s perfect for feeding a hungry crowd.

Why the recipe works

The layered approach gives each bite a satisfying mix of textures and flavors. The meat and bean base adds richness and protein, while the sour cream adds a cool, creamy contrast. Melting the cheese in the oven brings everything together, creating a bubbly, golden top that seals in the flavor. Plus, the fresh toppings add brightness and crunch, balancing out the warm, savory layers underneath.

Serving suggestions

Serve this dip hot from the oven with sturdy tortilla chips or warm tortillas on the side. It’s also great with crisp veggies like bell pepper strips or celery if you want a lighter option. For extra flair, add chopped cilantro, a splash of hot sauce, or a squeeze of lime just before serving. This one’s ideal for game days, casual parties, or anytime you want to impress with minimal effort.
