How To Cook Monkfish To Taste Like Lobster

Mock Lobster Recipe (4 Servings)

Ingredients

Scale

This is a delicious and inexpensive meal that may be served in place of the much more costly lobster tail.

  • ¼ cup of melted butter
  • ¾ teaspoon of paprika
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 4 filets of monkfish (6 ounces)
  • 4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. You can start this recipe by preheating the oven to 350 F.
  2. Then proceed to combine the melted butter, paprika, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  3. You can now place the monkfish fillets on a baking sheet coated with parchment paper or use a nonstick spray.
  4. Go ahead brush the filets with the butter mixture and sprinkle the bread crumbs on top of each fillet.
  5. Proceed to bake the monkfish filets for 15 to 20 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork, in the preheated oven.

With its mottled appearance – big and flathead – and gaping mouth loaded with frightening fangs, the monkfish is hardly the most attractive of fish. Although, the flavor is sweet and mild, and the flesh is solid and almost meaty, making it a popular option on menus.
