Updated on August 11th, 2025

If you love burgers with a rich, savory twist, this mushroom burger is one to try. Inspired by the Hardee’s Mushroom and Swiss Burger, it combines a juicy, seasoned beef patty with melted Swiss cheese and a flavorful mushroom topping. The mushrooms are marinated in a simple blend of balsamic vinegar, olive oil, herbs, and garlic, then grilled until tender and full of flavor. Whether you cook it on the stovetop or outside on the grill, this burger delivers a hearty bite that’s both satisfying and full of flavor.

Why this recipe works

  • Rich, savory taste: Marinated mushrooms add depth and pair perfectly with the mild creaminess of Swiss cheese.
  • Juicy and hearty: The beef patty stays tender while the melted cheese adds a creamy finish.
  • Simple marinade: Just a few pantry ingredients give the mushrooms a bold, flavorful boost.
  • Easy cooking options: Works well on both the grill and the stovetop, so you can make it any time of year.

Serving suggestions

  • Classic style: Serve with fries, onion rings, or a simple side salad for a complete meal.
  • Add fresh toppings: Try lettuce, tomato, or pickles for extra crunch and freshness.
  • Bun options: Use a brioche bun for a soft, buttery bite or a crusty roll for more texture.
  • Extra flavor: Spread a layer of mayonnaise or garlic aioli on the bun before adding the patty.
