- Start by pre-heating the oven to 300°F.
- Remove the spiral ham from the packaging and if it has a small plastic disk underneath the bone, remove that also.
- Place the spiral ham in an oven-safe baking dish with the cut side facing down and place it in the oven, wrap the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
- Bake the ham for 13-16 minutes per pound until the ham reaches 140°F when you check with a meat thermometer.
- While the ham is roasting in the oven, take a small saucepan and add the ¾ cup pure maple syrup or ⅔ cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup orange or pineapple juice, ¾ teaspoon ground nutmeg, ¾ teaspoon ground cloves, and 2 tablespoons dijon mustard.
