These southern bird dogs are easy to prepare and are great for football season. Instead of using a hot dog, this recipe uses a fried chicken strip. The fried chicken strips are placed into a hot dog bun on top of bacon and topped with cheese and a honey mustard sauce. You can either bake the chicken strips or fry them in the deep-fryer. Using frozen chicken strips helps to save time. If you want to save additional time using pre-cooked bacon would be a good option. You can serve these southern bird dogs with French fries. Enjoy.
