- One can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- Half cup water or broth
- One garlic clove, minced
- One bacon slice, cut into pieces
- Half-inch slice yellow onion, chopped
- One tablespoon unsalted butter
- One tablespoon olive oil
- ½ teaspoon hot sauce
- ½ teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Salt
Instructions
- Medium-heat, the cooking oil, add the onion and garlic, saute for about two minutes, add the bacon, and cook until soft.
- Add the rinsed pinto beans and keep cooking over medium heat. Then, add half a cup of liquid with the butter, hot sauce, sugar, and pepper. Stir and let it grow bubbly, then taste and adjust as needed with salt.
