These bacon wrapped cheese stuffed hot dogs are great on the grill. This recipe consists of very few ingredients and is simple to prepare. The hot dogs are sliced and stuffed with cheese and then wrapped with bacon. The hot dogs are then grilled and brushed with BBQ sauce. You will probably want to use precooked bacon for this recipe because it will cook faster. You can use whatever type of BBQ sauce you want for this recipe. Enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 8 hot dogs
  • 8 slices of mozzarella cheese
  • 16 slices bacon, pre-cooked
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 8 hot dog buns, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill over low heat. Slice each of the hot dogs in half lengthwise down the middle until cut almost all the way through but not all the way through. Fill the pocket with cheese slices. Wrap the hot dogs each with 2 slices of the precooked bacon. Secure the bacon to the hot dogs using toothpicks. Baste the bacon wrapped hot dogs with your favorite BBQ Sauce.
  2. Place onto the grill and grill on all four sides starting with the cheese side facing down. Grill until the bacon is crispy, the hot dog is sweating and the cheese has melted. Serve on a toasted bun.
