Bread Machine Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Updated on March 15th, 2023

If you are a fan of sweets, you probably enjoy cinnamon rolls. And sure, it’s easy to buy that cinnamon roll tube from the store — and so satisfying to pop it open! But why not try making at home? These bread machine cinnamon rolls are simple to make and so very delicious.

How to make bread machine cinnamon rolls

1. Mix your dough

To mix your dough, add water, butter, bread flour, granulated sugar, salt, and bread machine yeast into your bread machine. Here are your measurements:

  • ¾ cup warm water + 2 tablespoons
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon bread machine yeast

With your ingredients in play, start the dough cycle on your bread machine.

2. Roll the dough

When the dough is complete, roll it out with a rolling pin on a floured surface into a 9” square.

Next, spread 2 tablespoons of softened butter on the dough. Make the cinnamon sugar mix from 1/3 cup granulated sugar and 2 teaspoon ground cinnamon — and sprinkle that on top of the butter.

Roll up the dough tightly. Cut the dough into 1-inch slices and place them, cut side down, on a lightly greased baking dish.

3. Rise the dough

Cover the baking dish loosely with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 1 hour.

4. Bake

Remove plastic wrap and bake your bread machine cinnamon rolls in the oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

5. Glaze

While the rolls are baking, mix your glaze. Combine these ingredients in a bowl, until smooth:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Once the rolls are done baking, remove them from the oven. Drizzle the glaze over them while they’re hot. Serve and enjoy!

  2. These have been on my list to do for a long time now but I will have to wait after Easter to make them because of the butter. They look beautiful.

  3. Kent- Sorry but this is a breadmachine recipe. I would highly recommend a bread machine. They are inexpensive and will save you alot of time. I can see a few people want to make these without a bread machine so perhaps in the future I could post a recipe with no bread machine.

  4. WE LOVED IT! I made these for the first day of school and my son the cinnamon roll expert LOVED them. I also made them for the office staff at school and they loved them.

Now, I’m making them for Christmas morning. (Along with Biscuits and Gravy & French toast). I just have to be awake EARLY!

  5. I made these tonight with this recipe. I didnt have a bread machine so i mixed it into a dough by hand and it worked out just as good. I put photos of my cinnamon rolls on facebook, and i added crushed almonds to the glaze. They are so yummy!!

  6. These are just perfect. I made them the other day and they turned out just great. Even amount of sugar in the filling…is pefect. I wouldn’t change a thing. Thank you for this recipe!!!
