How To Cook Canned Yams

  • Canned yams; drained and syrup reserved
  • ½ cup of butter
  • ⅔ cup of white or brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup of syrup from the can

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Now put the canned yams in a shallow baking dish, then put it aside.
  3. You can now proceed to combine the butter, sugar, and syrup in a small saucepan. Then bring to a boil, reduce the heat to a low level and continue to cook – stirring periodically – until the sauce has thickened.
  4. Bake for 20-30 minutes after pouring the sauce over the canned yams.
  5. Before serving, nutmeg and/or ground cinnamon can be sprinkled on the dish.
