Bacon Wrapped Chicken Recipe

Bacon Wrapped Chicken
Chicken, and bacon, better yet, crispy bacon. They are two of my favorite foods both in one easy recipe. I had some extra boneless-skinless chicken breasts on hand and was looking for an easy dinner which brings us todayā€™s recipe for Bacon Wrapped Chicken. What really surprised me was the number of ingredients in this recipe, there are very few! I feel the chive and onion cream cheese is a huge ingredient in the flavor department and does most of the work for you. Ā Try and pound the chicken breasts down with a mallet as thinly as possible because they will roll up a lot easier. If you want to do some outdoor grilling these can also be grilled as well. They go great with a side dish of pasta or flavored rice. Enjoy.

  1. These are great!! My boys are not big cream cheese fans so for theirs I spread some butter on chicken then seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic and romano cheese. Wrapped in the bacon and they loved it!!!

  2. Made these for dinner tonight. Absolutely delicious!! Will add a sliver of fresh jalapeƱo to the next ones. Thinking about making them and freezing for a quick mid-week dinner!! Will probably freeze raw. YUMMY!!

  3. I love making these.. if you want a different twist, pour some of your favorite BBQ sauce in a bowl and toss the bacon in and coat it then wrap the chicken pieces and bake. OMGosh totally delish!

  4. I marinated the chicken in pilleteri’s original marinade and then followed your recipe….AWESOME!!!! Thank you for sharing such an easy/great recipe.

  5. My dad taught me how to make these when I was young and we put a fresh jalapeƱo in and grill them…it’s always been my favorite to make and now I want to try it with the cream cheese! Can’t wait!!

  6. I found this on Pinterest and it looks wonderful. Do you think this would work wrapped around with Laughing Cow cheeses?

  7. Holli – if you mean Laughing Cow Cheese in the middle, yes. I think it would work well in place of the cream cheese.

  8. My mom made this all of the time when I was growing up and it’s one of my favorites to make now.

Her recipe called for 2 tbs lemon juice added to the cream cheese (and she just used cream cheese and either chives or green onions whatever she had on hand) and she used pepper bacon for a little extra flavor.

And I LIKE it when the cream cheese comes out as “sauce”. . . I love the sauce on rice and broccoli. šŸ™‚

  9. I made these for dinner tonight for his kids and mine. It was a huge success, thanks so much for the great recipe. I made buttered egg noodles to go with it and the kids put the cheesy drippings from the roasting pan on the noodles…

  10. This recipe looks really good the only part about it was flattening out the chicken without it going all over the place!! and instead of the chicken being halves we used the whole and made it bigger .. Also we are grilling it …. haven’t tried this just yet because we are in the process of making it. Will update when finished.. Hope it turns out well!!

  11. I also use spinach. Butterfly the breasts stuff spinach and mozzarella cheese in them, then bake and cover in alfredo sauce.

  12. Hello I stumbled these yesterday and would have made them if I had toothpicks…. today is the day they are all rolled up and awaiting our yummy dinner!! Thanks

  13. Nice……. right when I have sworn off MEAT(: Imma prepare it though for my son, he’s still a carnivore(: and he can’t pass up bacon. Great Recipe by the way thx

  14. Just made this tonight! YUMMMMMM!!!! Super easy to make and absolutely delicious. Thanks for sharing this recipe šŸ™‚

  15. I made these just over a year ago, but wanted to check how long to cook them for… I’m eating it right now, and they are just as amazing as I remembered them being!

  16. Sophie- I am sorry but I have never tried to freeze these. The cooking time would be longer in the frozen state, but I am not sure how long you would have to cook them for. If you do try to freeze them and cook them, please let everyone know how it turns out. Thanks.

  17. Have never posted to a recipe site before but wanted to comment that these freeze beautifully! I lost my original recipe and stumbled across this site…so happy to have the recipe again. Making them for dinner tonight. I usually make a large batch and freeze them for another time. I believe I defrosted the breasts before cooking, cooked the standard time and they came out delicious.

  18. Nicole- I am not sure of the specific cause for the excess smoke. I would assume this is happening when you turn the broiler on? If so, try moving the chicken down more away from the broiler.

  19. I didn’t have cream cheese or the onions so I made the filling with ricotta cheese, colby shredded cheese, mozzarella shredded cheese, minced garlic. smells amazing!

  20. These are wonderful, I added minced jalapeno to the cream cheese before spreading on chicken, it gave it a little kick. The family loved it.

  21. I made these tonight, used plain cream cheese and added fresh minced garlic and chopped fresh chives. Little tip I discovered, after rolling chicken up,use a toothpick right away to hold the roll tight, then start your bacon over that same toothpick, when finished wrapping, secure with second toothpick:) nice tight wrapped rolls:)

  22. I make a few changes to this and it turned out amazing.
I put a package of powdered ranch seasoning in my plain cream cheese and sprinkle brown sugar on top of my bacon and it has a slightly more crispy sweet taste.
