Tips For Grilling Corn in Foil

The following tips will help you get amazing results when grilling corn in foil. As such, it is a good idea to adhere to these tips and suggestions:

Shucking the Corn – Corn is usually purchased with its husk because it is cheaper and much easier to remove on one’s own. Instead, peel back the green husks and remove the small hairs from the cob to remove the husk or shuck it.

Then, cut off the additional tip of the cob and discard it in the garbage or compost with the husks. Finally, rinse the corn on the cob under warm water to eliminate any remaining dirt or particles.

Getting the perfect foil pack – All you have to do to acquire it is to make sure it is properly sealed on all sides. You not only preserve all of your delicious seasonings and butter on your corn on the cob by sealing the foil pack, but you also get a nice steaming effect within the foil pack.

Oven-grilled variety – In essence, you prepare the foil-pack corn on the cob in the same way, but instead of grilling it, you can bake it straight on your oven racks. Cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, flipping halfway through, just like you would on the grill. So, if you don’t have a grill or would prefer not to use one, don’t let that stop you!

Cooking Corn on the Grill in Foil

Why would anyone need to grill corn in foil, you might ask? Well, it’s for these three simple reasons:

  • It helps cook evenly and perfectly. The foil pack helps trap heat and moisture, ensuring that the entire cob of corn cooks equally and uniformly.
  • The foil allows the corn to simmer in buttery bliss the entire time, ideal for dishes like this with lovely garlic butter.
  • In 30 minutes, you’ll have the perfect summer side dish on the table.

To make grilled corn in foil, you need to consider the grill temperature and cook time. Once you’ve mastered that, you can enjoy your grilled corn in foil recipes anytime you want.

When making grilled corn in foil, follow these steps for optimal results:

  • Preheat the grill to a medium-high temperature (375 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Season the corn and wrap it in foil. Rub it with olive oil, season it with salt and pepper, and then top it with a couple of pats of butter.
  • Wrap the corn loosely with foil. When wrapping the corn in foil, ensure the edges are sealed, but the wrapper isn’t too tight. Then, to allow air to escape, punch a few holes in the aluminum foil.
  • Cook for 20 to 25 minutes, flipping once or twice. Check to examine if the corn is a brilliant yellow color and well-cooked; the timing will vary depending on the grill temperature.

The grilled corn in foil with butter, salt, and pepper will suffice to make the recipe pleasant. If you want to go a step further, here’s what we suggest:

  • Parsley, cilantro, or chives (fresh): Any one of these herbs, thinly sliced and sprinkled on the grilled corn in foil, looks and tastes wonderful.
  • Paprika, either in fresh or smoked forms, can help enhance the color and flavor of grilled corn in foil by a sprinkling of crimson.
  • Old Bay and taco seasoning are well-known flavoring agents and are fantastic on maize. You can use purchased or homemade options for these seasonings.
  • Mexican street corn (elote) is one of the best ways to consume corn, with a creamy, spicy sauce and a sprinkle of cheese, lime, and cilantro.
  • Ranch seasoning on grilled corn in foil is also delectable
  • The basil, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder in Greek seasoning are great for sprinkling on corn.

Cooking Time for Grilled Corn in Foil

Preheat your grill to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Grill the foil-pack corn for 25-30 minutes over direct heat, flipping halfway through at roughly 15 minutes.

Because you can easily grill other foods at the same time as your grilled corn in foil, we recommend preparing your main course alongside your grilled corn in foil so that everything cooks at the same time.

To make room for other items, you can always shift your grilled corn off direct heat and into indirect heat. It’s possible, however, that your corn will need to be cooked a little longer if you do this.
