Oven Roasted Corned Beef Brisket (4 – 5 Servings)

Ingredients

Scale

Instructions

  1. Remove beef brisket and seasoning packet from the beef pack.
  2. Trim off and remove some of the fatty surfaces from your corned beef brisket. Rinse the beef brisket thoroughly under cool running water, massaging it gently to discard some of its salt contents. After rinsing under cool running water, make sure to dry with a paper towel.
  3. Make a glaze using your ½ cup of brown sugar (light or dark brown) with your ½ cup of Dijon mustard. Mix up thoroughly in a clean bowl until it becomes a paste. Then wash and dice the necessary ingredients (onion, garlic, etc.), mixing them with your preferred spices. Rub thoroughly over the corned beef brisket. Also, If you wish to add more flavor to your beef brisket, you can add an ends-trimmed lemon, gently squeezing out the liquid from the lemon onto the beef.
  4. Place your well-seasoned brisket in a baking dish or pan or whatever cooking Equipment you’re making use of. Add 2-3 tbsp of water into the pan or meat broth (note that the meat broth only applies if you boiled it at a former time). Then grab a traditional kitchen foil and gently cover up the beef brisket properly, pressing down the foil around the pan or baking dish being used( trust me, you wouldn’t want the heat in the Oven affecting your brisket if not properly covered up).
  5. Afterward, pre-heat your Oven to about 330-370 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for the next 2½-3 hours since a pound of meat is cooked per hour. Once done, carefully take out the beef brisket from the Oven. You would notice that the outer part of the brisket now has a slightly brown shiny look, but to be sure it’s properly cooked, you can use a fork or table knife to cut out a piece of the beef. The meat should be tender, and if it’s not, it’s totally fine to cook again in the Oven for an hour more. Your beef brisket becomes nice, tender, and fully cooked when you’re done cooking.

When properly cooked in the Oven, the corned beef brisket can be eaten with fried chili rice, mashed potatoes, carrots, or any rice of your choice. It’s one of the easiest and fastest ways to prepare beef, leaving you with a sense of satisfaction when the suitable guidelines are followed to the latter.
