Easy Homemade Beef Hamburger (4 Servings)

  • Author: Bobby

  • ½ tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 x 500g pack British Beef Steak Mince 15% fat
  • 1 tsp mixed dried herbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 slices of mature Cheddar
  • 4 white rolls
  • few round lettuce leaves, torn
  • 1 beef tomato, sliced
  • Ketchup

  1. In a frying pan, heat the olive oil, then add the onion and cook for 5 minutes, or until softened and golden. Remove from the equation.
  2. Combine the beef mince, herbs, and egg in a mixing bowl. Add the onions after seasoning with salt and pepper. Form four patties with your hands.
  3. Cook the burgers for 5-6 minutes on each side on a preheated grill or griddle. Place a slice of cheese on top of the second side to melt slightly while it cooks (if using).
  4. Meanwhile, on the BBQ, lightly brown the cut-sides of the buns. Place the lettuce, burgers, and tomato slices on top. If desired, serve with ketchup.
