What are sliders?

Sliders are small sandwiches. Traditionally, they’ve consisted of a mini hamburger patty, cheese, lettuce, and pickles in between two small buns. Today’s slider has evolved way beyond hamburger, though. You can make a slider with nearly any type of meat — the defining feature is the small bun, rather than what’s inside.

Sliders can be served as an appetizer, snack, or even a meal. The popularity of sliders has been growing due to their size and convenience. Sliders are usually served with condiments such as ketchup and mustard, but they can also be made with various other toppings such as bacon, jalapeños, and onions. You can also get creative by adding different sauces and spices for more flavor.

Sliders are great for parties and they’re especially popular on game days. See our best sliders for Super Bowl parties here.

What kind of meat can you put in a slider?

You can make sliders with any type of meat. Popular choices are beef, chicken, pork, and turkey. Ground beef is probably the most common type of meat used in sliders, as it is easy to shape into patties and cook quickly. You can alternatively use ground chicken, pork or turkey if you prefer a different flavor or texture.

You can also grill up some steaks or sliced chicken breasts to create sliders with larger pieces of meat. Whatever type of meat you decide on, make sure to season it well before cooking it so that your sliders have plenty of flavor!

What kind of buns can you use for sliders?

You have lots of options for slider buns. A popular choice is the classic dinner roll. That’s been the go-to bun for sliders since their inception. These rolls are usually about two inches wide and provide just enough room for your mini sandwich filling.

You could also use Hawaiian sweet rolls or mini brioche buns. Both of these options will give your sliders a sweeter taste that pairs well with savory ingredients like bacon and cheese.

If you’re looking for something more unique, potato buns are an interesting choice. The potato bun adds a crispy texture on the outside while the inside remains soft and chewy.

You can also opt for pretzel buns, which have the same texture as a big, soft pretzel.

Whichever bun you choose, just make sure it’s fresh and not too thick. That way, your slider can maintain its small size without toppings spilling out everywhere!

Why do people love sliders?

People love sliders because they are a fun and versatile snack. Whether you are hosting a party or just looking to satisfy your hunger, sliders are a fun choice. They come in many different sizes and flavors, so it’s easy to find something that everyone will enjoy. They can also be served with different condiments like ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, and pickles.

Plus, sliders look adorable on a plate!

Chili Cheese Sliders
These chili cheese sliders are a quick and easy burger recipe to prepare for gameday. Chili cheese sliders are burgers that are topped off with cheddar cheese, bacon and chili! To save time this recipe uses canned chili and you can use chili with or without beans. If you want to save additional time, you can use precooked bacon. If you would prefer to use regular bacon, cooking crispy bacon isn’t difficult at all. If you have trouble finding slider buns, any small bun will work such as dollar rolls or dinner rolls. The burgers can either be cooked in the pan, on a griddle or on an outdoor grill. I personally prefer the griddle or outdoor grill because I have enough room to cook all of the burgers at once. I like to serve these sliders with French fries. Enjoy.

These western burger sliders are topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, homemade onions rings, and BBQ sauce. The burger patties can either be fried in the pan, on a griddle or grilled on an outdoor grill. The best part about this recipe is the homemade onion strings. The onion strings require a little bit of work but it is well worth the extra effort. Thinly sliced onions are dipped first into buttermilk and then rolled in a seasoned flour mixture. The breaded onions are then fried in hot oil until crispy. You can use your favorite BBQ sauce for this recipe. These little burgers make another great recipe for football season. Enjoy.
