Here is a copycat recipe for the burger from In-N-Out Burger. We do not have In-N-Out Burger here so unfortunately I have never tried the real thing but this burger is delicious. The burger is topped with caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and a sauce. The best part about this recipe of course is the sauce. The sauce is a combination of mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, and white vinegar. These few ingredients come together to make a delicious sauce that gives the burgers a unique flavor. The caramelized onions are a nice touch as well and are sautéed in vegetable oil for about 30 minutes. You can either make these a double burger with 2 patties each or form the meat into 4 large patties. These burgers can be cooked in the frying pan but I prefer a griddle. There is only 1 tablespoon of Jack Daniels in this recipe but it gets other amazing flavors from roasted garlic, pineapple and teriyaki sauce. To prepare this glaze, a bulb of garlic is roasted in the oven and then the pulp is mixed with various ingredients and simmered in the pan until the liquid has become thick. The grilled cheese gets a nice kick from the pepper jack and the flavors of chicken, bacon and ranch go perfectly together. The type of bread that is used in this recipe is sourdough but you can experiment with other types of bread if you choose. For the chicken strips you can either use store bought or you can make your own. One of my favorite soups to get at Chinese restaurants is Wonton soup. Wonton soup consists of wontons that are filled with a pork mixture and then cooked in either chicken broth of water. This recipe cooks the wontons in water because the dish can be served as leftovers. If the soup is allowed to sit the wontons will make the soup cloudy, thick and starchy. If you intend to serve the soup immediately, the wontons can be cooked right in the broth. The broth really only consists of chicken stock and sesame oil. You can add additional ingredients to the broth for a little more flavor such as soy sauce. Soy sauce will also give the broth a darker color, if that is what you prefer. You can easily purchase cocktail sauce from the grocery store but it is actually very easy to make your own. Cocktail sauce combines a few simple ingredients which you may already have on hand. This delicious sauce is a combination of ketchup, horseradish, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. I prepared breaded shrimp for dinner and decided I wanted a dipping sauce to go with them. I did not have anything on hand so I decided to prepare this cocktail sauce recipe. This sauce goes great served with cooked shrimp or cooked breaded shrimp. Enjoy.
