This ham steak with red-eye gravy is yet another quick and easy dinner to prepare. The ham steak is cooked in the pan until browned and then the gravy is prepared. The gravy has a great taste and gets a lot of flavor from ingredients such as maple syrup and instant espresso. The sauce is boiled on the stove top and gets a lot of its flavor from Jack Daniels and soy sauce. You can double the sauce ingredients if you want a little more sauce for the noodles. I like to serve this dish over pasta noodles and sesame seed and green onions for a garnish. Enjoy.

If you are looking for a simple Asian pasta dish to prepare, these Beijing noodles are great. This recipe consists of only a few different ingredients. Most of the flavor comes from black bean sauce. Ground pork is stir-fried in the wok with some black bean sauce and then the potatoes are added into the mix. I like to use pre-cooked stir-fry noodles for this recipe, as no boiling is required. I just add them right into the sauce for a few minutes and stir. I came up with the idea for this chicken strip grilled cheese recipe from the menu at Perkins restaurant. I have not actually tried this grilled cheese at Perkins but the idea sounded delicious. This sandwich is loaded with two crispy chicken strips, bacon, pepper jack cheese, ranch dressing and sour dough bread. The grilled cheese gets a nice kick from the pepper jack and the flavors of chicken, bacon and ranch go perfectly together. The type of bread that is used in this recipe is sourdough but you can experiment with other types of bread if you choose. For the chicken strips you can either use store bought or you can make your own. Using frozen chicken strips from the store will save a lot of time and they can either be deep fried or baked—it’s your choice. Serve with French fries. Enjoy.

One of my favorite soups to get at Chinese restaurants is Wonton soup. Wonton soup consists of wontons that are filled with a pork mixture and then cooked in either chicken broth of water. This recipe cooks the wontons in water because the dish can be served as leftovers. If the soup is allowed to sit the wontons will make the soup cloudy, thick and starchy. If you intend to serve the soup immediately, the wontons can be cooked right in the broth. The broth really only consists of chicken stock and sesame oil. You can add additional ingredients to the broth for a little more flavor such as soy sauce. Soy sauce will also give the broth a darker color, if that is what you prefer. Wonton soup is great to serve for lunch or with any Chinese dinner. Enjoy.

This grilled cheese is a great tasting combination of honey Dijon mustard chicken, bacon, and mozzarella cheese. This grilled cheese uses whole wheat bread but you can really use whatever type of bread that you would prefer such as French bread or white bread. The chicken is first marinated in a honey mustard mixture and then grilled. If you do not want to grill the chicken, it can be fried in the pan or baked in the oven as well. This recipe will make two sandwiches but the ingredients can easily be doubled to make more. If you wish to make additional sandwiches you will not need to increase the marinade ingredients.
