The ingredients of poutine go great on a freshly baked pizza. I came up with this idea from a poutine pizza that was on the menu at Pizza Hut in Canada recently. The sauce is a homemade gravy that gets a lot of flavor from beef broth, garlic, and ketchup. The pizza is topped off with French fries, sliced steak, and cheese curds. French fries may seem a little weird on a pizza and you may want to go easy on them. I like to use the home-style frozen French fries that you buy in the store but you can also make your own if you would prefer. This recipe is a little time consuming and I like to use a store bought pizza crust to save time. If there is any extra gravy you can use it to drizzle on top of the pizza or for dipping. If you are looking for a rather unique pizza recipe, give this one a try. Enjoy.

Asian Chicken with Pasta Recipe

Asian Chicken with Pasta
Asian chicken with pasta makes a great dinner that requires no side-dish but of course, you can serve it with egg rolls, fried rice or anything that you like. What is great about this recipe is that it uses boneless chicken thighs instead of breasts. The boneless thighs can be cooked for longer in the wok without becoming dry. The chicken is marinated in ingredients such as soy sauce and oyster sauce and then stir-fried in the pan. The noodles are cooked right in the wok and then mixed with cabbage, carrots, and oyster and soy sauce for even more flavor. Instead of chow mein noodles you can use pre-cooked stir-fry noodles if you want find them. Enjoy.

Double Decker Tacos Recipe

double decker tacos
This is a great tasting recipe for double decker tacos, just like the ones from Taco Bell—only better! A double decker taco is a flour tortilla covered with a refried bean spread and then wrapped around a hard-shell taco. The taco is loaded with ingredients such as taco meat, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and cilantro. Many additional ingredients can be added as well such as sour cream and salsa. The taco meat gets a lot of its flavor from seasonings such as chili powder and cumin. Even more flavor is added to the taco meat with tomato sauce and fresh lime juice. Enjoy.

Honey-Chipotle Chicken Crispers Recipe

  • by

honey-chipotle chicken crispers
This a copycat recipe for the honey-chipotle chicken crispers at Chili’s restaurant. Chicken crispers are basically chicken strips that are tossed with a sweet and spicy sauce. The sauce uses ingredients such as ketchup and honey and chipotle powder to give these chicken strips amazing flavor. The chicken is first dipped in a batter and then rolled in a flour mixture and deep-fried until crispy. There are a lot of ingredients that go into this recipe but chances are you have many of them on hand. You can easily double these ingredients if you want to serve more people. This is a great appetizer to serve for football season or even for dinner. Enjoy.

Bratwurst Grilled Cheese Recipe

bratwurst grilled cheese
If you want a truly tasty sandwich recipe for game day give this bratwurst grilled cheese a try. This grilled cheese is a simple combination of a grilled bratwurst, Muenster cheese, honey-mustard and French bread. You can cook the bratwurst on an outdoor grill, an indoor grill pan or even in a frying pan. You can also experiment with different types of cheese in this recipe. A good option instead of the Muenster might be to use shredded Gouda. I like to serve this grilled cheese with either French fries or pretzels.

Chicken and Broccoli Casserole Recipe

chicken and broccoli casserole
Quick and easy meals like this chicken and broccoli casserole are my go to dishes for busy nights. This casserole combines chicken, broccoli, rice, cheese, mayonnaise, cream of chicken soup and cornflakes. To save time you can use the meat from a cooked rotisserie chicken. The combination of flavors is great in this recipe and the cornflakes add a really nice crunch to the top of the casserole. I like to add cheese to the mixture and then add an additional layer of cheese under the cornflakes. You can use either white or brown rice for this recipe—I prefer the brown rice personally. Enjoy.

Crispy Chicken Poppers Recipe

  • by

crispy chicken poppers
These crispy chicken poppers are a delicious snack or dinner that is easy to prepare. What is great about these chicken poppers is that they are baked in the oven and not fried. The poppers are crispy because they are rolled in cornflakes. A lot of the flavor in this recipe comes from the parmesan cheese and seasonings such as garlic, paprika and ground black pepper. This recipe gets even better with the parmesan-ranch dipping sauce. The sauce is prepared in a blender and combines ingredients such as sour cream, parmesan cheese, lemon, and chives. Enjoy.

Western Sliders Recipe

  • by

western sliders
These western burger sliders are topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, homemade onions rings, and BBQ sauce. The burger patties can either be fried in the pan, on a griddle or grilled on an outdoor grill. The best part about this recipe is the homemade onion strings. The onion strings require a little bit of work but it is well worth the extra effort. Thinly sliced onions are dipped first into buttermilk and then rolled in a seasoned flour mixture. The breaded onions are then fried in hot oil until crispy. You can use your favorite BBQ sauce for this recipe. These little burgers make another great recipe for football season. Enjoy.

Ranch Chicken Wraps Recipe

ranch chicken wraps
These ranch chicken wraps make a perfect lunch or dinner. The wraps are loaded with provolone cheese, spinach, ham, chicken, and a homemade ranch dressing. The dressing is easily prepared in a blender and gets a lot of its flavor from garlic and chives. I like to use multigrain or wheat wraps for this recipe but you could use flour or spinach wraps as well. The chicken is seasoned, baked in the oven and then sliced into strips. If you want to make this recipe a little easier you could use slices of roast deli chicken instead. Another modification you could make to this recipe if you do not like spinach is to use romaine lettuce instead. I like to serve these delicious wraps with potato chips on the side. Enjoy.

Chicken Artichoke Flatbread Recipe

  • by

chicken artichoke flatbread
This recipe is very similar to the chicken artichoke flatbread pizza at Outback Steakhouse. Flatbread is topped off with an artichoke spread, chicken, mozzarella cheese, and parmesan cheese and then baked in the oven. Once the pizza has finished baking it is then topped with additional fresh spinach and shredded parmesan cheese. The chicken can be grilled, baked or pan fried—whichever you would prefer. The artichoke spread is very similar to spinach and artichoke dip and consists of ingredients such as fresh spinach, canned artichokes and cream cheese. You can use a package of frozen spinach that is thawed instead of the fresh if you would prefer. If you are looking for a great tasting dinner or appetizer to serve for football season, this recipe is perfect for you. Enjoy.

Italian Baked Chicken Recipe

Italian Baked Chicken
During the colder months an excellent recipe to prepare in the oven is Italian baked chicken. This recipe consists of chicken coated with breadcrumbs and topped with marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella cheese. You can use your favorite brand of marinara sauce or even make your own if you want. This dish is very similar to chicken parmesan with the addition of ricotta cheese. The ingredients can easily be doubled if you want to make enough to serve 4 people. I like to serve this recipe with extra heated marinara and linguini noodles. Enjoy.

Cincinnati Chili Recipe

Cincinnati Chili
This recipe isn’t your average chili, it’s Cincinnati Chili. This chili is perfect to prepare for football season game day parties. If you are looking for a chili recipe that has a different flavor from your normal chili, this recipe is perfect for you. What makes this chili so unique is the combination of flavors. Spices such as cinnamon and allspice help to create the great flavor of this chili. If you want you can prepare this recipe in large batches, you can by doubling the ingredients. Chicken Strip Grilled Cheese Recipe

Chicken Strip Grilled Cheese
I came up with the idea for this chicken strip grilled cheese recipe from the menu at Perkins restaurant. I have not actually tried this grilled cheese at Perkins but the idea sounded delicious. This sandwich is loaded with two crispy chicken strips, bacon, pepper jack cheese, ranch dressing and sour dough bread. The grilled cheese gets a nice kick from the pepper jack and the flavors of chicken, bacon and ranch go perfectly together. The type of bread that is used in this recipe is sourdough but you can experiment with other types of bread if you choose. For the chicken strips you can either use store bought or you can make your own. Using frozen chicken strips from the store will save a lot of time and they can either be deep fried or baked—it’s your choice. Serve with French fries. Enjoy.

Wonton Soup Recipe

  • by

Wonton Soup
One of my favorite soups to get at Chinese restaurants is Wonton soup. Wonton soup consists of wontons that are filled with a pork mixture and then cooked in either chicken broth of water. This recipe cooks the wontons in water because the dish can be served as leftovers. If the soup is allowed to sit the wontons will make the soup cloudy, thick and starchy. If you intend to serve the soup immediately, the wontons can be cooked right in the broth. The broth really only consists of chicken stock and sesame oil. You can add additional ingredients to the broth for a little more flavor such as soy sauce. Soy sauce will also give the broth a darker color, if that is what you prefer. Wonton soup is great to serve for lunch or with any Chinese dinner. Enjoy.

Brown Sugar Pork Chops Recipe

brown sugar pork chops
If you are looking for a delicious baked pork chops recipe this might be perfect for you. What is great about these brown sugar pork chops is how easy they are to prepare. The pork chops are rubbed with garlic and brown sugar, drizzled with butter, sprinkled with paprika and then are baked. Once the pork chops are almost finished in the oven, they are topped off with shredded Colby-jack cheese. The baking time only takes about 20-25 minutes so these pork chops can be ready in no time at all! I like to serve this dish with wild rice and/or a salad. Enjoy.

Pepper Jack Steak Wraps Recipe

pepper jack steak wraps
Pepper jack steak wraps are loaded with sliced steak, pepper jack cheese, iceberg lettuce, pico de gallo, and a southwest sauce. These slightly spicy wraps are similar to the ones that can be found at Buffalo Wild Wings. Although this is not a copycat recipe for the pepper jack steak wraps at BWW, they are very good. The taste is similar but the southwest sauce has a different flavor than the sauce at BBW. I like to use whole wheat wraps for this recipe but you can use flour tortillas as well. Try and slice the steak as thinly as possible for the best results. The steak can be sliced first and then cooked, or the steak can be cooked whole and then sliced. I like to serve this recipe with French fries. Pepper jack steak wraps are a great option to prepare for game day. EnjoyRead More »Pepper Jack Steak Wraps Recipe

Spicy Chicken Strips Recipe

Spicy Chicken Strips
These spicy chicken strips are a perfect appetizer to serve on game day. For this recipe, we are using the breading from the Spicy Chicken Sandwich recipe and turning it into chicken strips. Most of the heat in these chicken strips come from hot pepper sauce and cayenne pepper. If you want more spice, you can up the amount of cayenne pepper in the flour mixture. This recipe is fairly easy to make—the most work that is required is in breading the chicken pieces. I like to serve these chicken strips with ranch dressing for dipping. Enjoy.
